Writing An Amazing Introduction To A Persuasive Essay
A persuasive essay is the type of assignment where the writer needs to convince his audience of his ideas by providing logical arguments and strong evidence based on facts to prove these arguments. You should remember that you have to use an argumentative tone in your paper rather than informing or describing anything in your paper. The purpose of your essay is to persuade your audience of your stance. Think of delivering a speech on a sensitive topic and then you try your best to persuade the audience to agree with your stance and acknowledge your efforts. You have to do the same in a persuasive paper.
The first thing you need to do while writing such an assignment is picking a stance. You should be able to take a side of the topic and you cannot stay neutral or in the middle. You have to speak for or against a given subject and you must decide this before writing anything. You will be only able to convince or persuade someone of your ideas if you have a clear and strong stance on the subject matter. You cannot create an argument nor have a convincing tone if there is no stance in the paper
The other important thing to do is to pick a topic you will write about in your paper. The topic should be engaging and interactive so that you can provide a reason for your audience to continue with the rest of your assignment. The readers are quick and make decisions by evaluating the topic of your paper whether they want to spend time on it or not
Once you have a strong topic to write your paper about, you can go ahead and start the introduction paragraph. The introduction is the first paragraph of your essay and it will leave an impression on your readers. According to a research, a reader will stick to the rest of your paper if he spends the first ten seconds reading it. You need to make sure that the introduction of your paper is well composed and worth reading as it is an opening to your world of ideas and opinions
- Define your topic or problem you are addressing
- Show the importance of this paper or the problem you are addressing. Explain the so what to your readers
- Show the scope of your paper through your thesis statement
- Stay precise and to the point when writing the introduction
